Não sei de onde terá vindo este pedaço de ganga. Sei que esteve aos caídos na cave da minha casa em Santo Tirso durante alguns anos. Estava sujíssimo e cheio de pelos de gatos, dos nossos e dos outros, que entram pelos gateiros e se enroscam nas caixas que por lá andam quando está frio ou chuva lá fora.
A mãe lavou-o bem, e eu aproveitei-o. Era muito pequeno para poder, sozinho, dar alguma coisa. Mas no meu baú de tecidos tinha também 1 m2 de um tecido muito giro que comprei há alguns dois anos numa retrosaria em Vila Nova de Milfontes (quando ainda não tinha noção nenhuma de quanto tecido precisava para fazer uma peça de roupa…), por isso juntei-os aos dois, e o resultado foi este.
I don’t know where this piece of denim came from. I just know it had been lying in the basement of my house in Santo Tirso for a few years now. It was really dirty and full of cat hair, from our cats and all the other ones who crawl into our basement by these small windows and get cosy among all the boxes there when it’s cold outside.
Mom washed it clean and I took it. It was really small to become something on its own. Luckily I also had 1 m2 of some other beautiful fabric I bought a couple of years ago during our Summer vacation in Vila Nova de Milfontes (back when I didn’t have the smallest clue how much fabric I needed to make a garment…), so I put them together and this is what I came up with.
