Quando comprei este tecido, a ideia era fazer umas calças. Daquelas largas e fluidas para dias relaxados de verão e praia. Depois percebi que não conseguia fazer as duas pernas com o retalho que comprei… E fiz um vestido. Sem molde,  bem simples. Quase pareceu batota…

When I bought this fabric, my idea was to make a pair a pants. One of those very wide and fluid pants for Summer days at the beach. Then I realized I didn’t have enough fabric to do both legs… And I made a dress. No pattern, very simple. It almost felt like cheating…

 

Setembro é mês de férias de Verão… | September is the month of Summer holidays…

Houve festa de Santa Catarina, Silves, carroças ciganas, Praia da Rocha, Vila Nova de Milfontes, Torreira e tudo mais. E foi tãão bom!

There was Saint Catherine’s local celebrations in Cabeçudos, up North, and then Silves, a gypsy van, Praia da Rocha, Vila Nova de Milfontes, Torreira beach and all that. And it was sooo good!

Verde marítimo | Navy green

Sempre associei as riscas azuis a tudo o que é motivo marítimo. E eu gosto dos motivos marítimos, porque me lembram as férias, o mar, a praia, e barcos (sendo certo que os barcos me enjoam um bocado, mas sempre são bonitos de se olhar da areia).

As riscas de outras cores já não me remetem para estes temas com a mesma força, normalmente. Mas estas riscas verdes convenceram-me.

Utilizando a nova tendência dos folhos na cintura, fiz este top bem casual, perfeito para uma ida à praia!

I have always associated blue stripes with everything that’s navy related. And I like navy motives, as they remind me of vacation, the sea, the beach, and boats (actually, boats get me a bit seasick, but they are certainly beautiful to look at from the shore!).

Usually, stripes of other colors don’t remind me of these things so much, but these green ones got me.

Using the new peplum tendency, I made this green stripped casual top, perfect for a day at the beach!

O molde é o mesmo que usei aqui, com as necessárias adaptações. O tecido foi cortesia da tia Lídia, e a renda das mangas veio do mercado de Benfica.

Este fim de semana já o levei a passear à Adraga, em Almoçageme, Sintra, e foi tão bom…! Não tenho fotos da praia, infelizmente, porque me esqueci da máquina fotográfica em casa, mas deixo-vos com os detalhes do outfit.

The pattern is the same one I used here, with the necessary adjustments. The fabric was courtesy of my aunt Lídia, and the lace of the sleeves came from the Benfica farmers market.

I already took it to Adraga beach (in Almoçageme, Sintra, Portugal) this weekend, and what a perfect day it was…! Sadly, I don’t have any pictures of the beach, because I forgot my camera at home, but I leave you with some of my outfit details.
